Former player and now CCTV commentator Gong Weijie says Guangzhou will be rock
ing when the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals starts on Wednesday 12 December.

前球員、現任中國央視評論員龔偉杰說，週三開始的廣州年終賽將會有劇烈的震動。

Having watched the inaugural HSBC BWF World Tour season from the comfort of hi
s commentating chair, Gong is excited for some tight competition and electrify
ing atmosphere at the Tianhe Gymnasium.

在他舒服的評論席椅子上，龔觀看了首屆的匯豐世界羽聯巡迴賽賽季，他對於天河體育館
激烈的競賽與氣氛感到興奮不已。

“Every match will be exciting, representing the highest level of world badmin
ton. It will be a great tournament to watch,” Gong said.

「每場賽事都將令人興奮，這代表了世界羽壇的最高水準。將會有偉大的比賽可看。」龔
說。


“But I hope it’s not only a competition, but also a year-end badminton party
and that all the players and spectators can enjoy the party.

「但我希望這不只是比賽，更會是年終的羽毛球派對，讓觀眾跟球員都能享受這場派對。
」

“Hopefully as many fans as possible can join us in the stadium and provide en
couragement for the players.”

「希望盡可能有更多粉絲來球場加入我們，為場上的球員加油。」

Gong says home attention will be on all-conquering Mixed Doubles duo Zheng Siw
ie and Huang Yaqiong.

龔說家鄉的關注焦點，會放在戰無不勝的混雙組合鄭思維、黃雅瓊身上。

“We can see it from their statistics. They’ve combined as a pair for only on
e year but have won all five Super 750 tournaments this year.

「從他們的出戰數據我們可以看到，他們僅僅成軍一年就贏得今年所有超級750的比賽。
」


“They are in a dominant position (heading into the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals
).”

「他們處於統治的位置。」

There is an even spread of nations across the five categories with athletes fr
om Indonesia, Chinese Taipei, Japan and China in particular, strong chances to
take home their share of the US$1 million prize pool.

特別是來自印尼、中華台北、日本與中國的運動員平均分布在五個項目裡，都有很大的機
會把總獎金一百萬美元分回家。

Gong has especially enjoyed the China-Japan rivalry in 2018 and is looking for
ward to their respective stars battling it out.

龔特別享受2018年中日兩國之間的對抗，並期待兩國球星的在年終賽的爭奪。

“The recent competition between China and Japan has been particularly outstan
ding,” Gong said.

「中日之間近期的競爭特別明顯，」龔說。


“After more than a decade in hibernation, Japan has come back significantly s
tronger.

「在超過十年以上的蟄伏後，日本的回歸更加強大。」

“The fierce club competition inside Japan has produced strength in depth.

「日本各俱樂部激烈的競賽，產生了實力上的深度。」

“Kento Momota came back and found his position quickly (following his injury
layoff), winning the World Championships and dominating the Men’s Singles.

「桃田賢斗復出、快速地找回他的位置，贏得世錦賽冠軍，並主宰了男單領域。」

“We did not expect he would come back so powerfully and take top spot.

「我們並未預料他的回歸竟如此有力並佔據了榜首。」

“So, in both Men’s Singles and Mixed Doubles, I think those who have won the
most titles on tour will have the best chance to win.”

The one category that Gong thinks is a littler harder to predict is Women’s S
ingles.

“The players here are of the same level and stand at similar odds to win the
title,” he said.

「球員都是同一個水準，而且都有相似的機率可以贏得冠軍。」他說。

“A series of fierce matches will take place as almost all of the top eight ha
ve won one title or more in 2018.

「幾乎前八的球員都在2018年贏得一個或以上的冠軍，所以年終賽會是一連串激烈的競賽
。」


“I would say everyone has a great chance to win.”

「我會說每個人都有很大的機會能贏。」

The HSBC BWF World Tour Finals is the signature event of the season for which
only the cream of the crop qualifies.

匯豐世界羽聯年終賽是本季的象徵賽事，只有最強的那群球員有資格參加。

The draw for the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals takes place at 10.15am on Monday 1
0 December.
