Wilson had supplied game balls during the NBA’s first 37 seasons before Spaldin
g took over the contract in 1983 and held it for the next 37, with this latest c
hange coming during the NBA’s 75th-anniversary season.

Vincent: I think it’s noticeably different, The Spalding ball’s been around fo
rever. I mean, I played with it the last three years, four years myself. Even pr
eparing for the NBA, you practice with it, you get ready for pre-draft with it.
It’s not a drastic change, I think, but you can definitely feel a difference wi
th the Wilson ball, just like you feel a difference in college and you go somewh
ere else and play with a different ball.
