COLE TO MISS ENGLAND GAME

The Football Association has tonight (Monday) released the following
statement.


It reads:

'Ashley Cole has withdrawn from the England squad due to injury.

'The Chelsea defender will be unavailable for the World Cup qualifier with
Montenegro at Wembley on Friday, remaining with his club for further
treatment.

'Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs has been added to Roy Hodgson's squad.'


Cole was substituted in the second half of Sunday's game at Norwich with
what Jose Mourinho reported afterwards was a rib injury.
