送走重建功臣湯瑪斯 安吉：痛苦的對話
塞爾蒂克今天向外界介紹球隊新成員厄文（Kyrie Irving）與海瓦德（Gordon Hayward），宣布新賽季將以全新面貌與球迷見面，不過對於送走上季在波士頓相當高人氣的「小巨人」湯瑪斯（Isaiah Thomas），綠衫軍總裁安吉（Danny Ainge）表示，要親口向湯瑪斯說明交易案，是他人生中最困難的一段對話。
湯瑪斯在上個賽季帶領綠衫軍打出東區第一名的佳績，加上季後賽的精采表現讓他一度被視為球隊中興的希望；不過綠衫軍在季後賽大幅更替主力陣容，湯馬斯成為球隊與騎士換回厄文的籌碼，讓促成這筆交易的塞爾蒂克總裁安吉執言，這是非常艱困的決定。
「這是我人生中遇過最困難的一段對話。」回憶起親自告知湯瑪斯將被交易到騎士時，安吉說：「湯瑪斯受到整個波士頓的喜愛，全是因為他為我們所做的付出。」
安吉直言，球隊之所有能夠組成厄文、海瓦德與霍福特（Al Horford）的陣容，湯瑪斯的犧牲功不可沒，「如果他沒有幫助我們建構這樣的藍圖，今天我們就不會在這邊開記者會，海瓦德也不會對球隊留下深刻的印象，其他人也是。」
