CHALOBAH TAKES LEAGUE AWARD
Posted on: Fri 24 May 2013
Nathaniel Chalobah, currently on-loan at Watford, has been named the
Football League's Young Player of the Month for April.
During that period the 18-year-old midfielder, who is a product of the
Chelsea Academy, kept the Hornets challenging for promotion from the
Championship. Ultimately they had to settle for a play-off place but that
has taken them to Wembley on Monday when they will play Crystal Palace for
a place in the Premier League.
Chalobah has played 41 games for his loan club, scoring five goals, the
most recent a special strike against Leicester that came during April.
'At the start of the season I was just coming from the Under-21s at
Chelsea and looking to play a few games at Watford. I couldn't have asked
for a better season,' the player said on receiving the award.
Watford manager Gianfranco Zola said: 'Well done to him. He's been an
exciting player for us and he's done very well throughout this season.'
