在週五的新聞發佈會上，切爾西臨時主帥貝尼特斯透露隊長特里，將不會隨隊出
征日本。不過好消息是，另一位老將蘭帕德已經傷癒復出，有機會參加週末對桑德蘭
的聯賽。

“特里不會去日本參賽，醫生警告他的傷處有發炎的危險，所以隨隊出征不是個
好主意。起初我與特里交談時，他對日本之旅感到興奮。不過經過與醫生的溝通後，
他無法出征，雖然他很想去，很想幫助球隊，但留下來對他更有好處。”


“蘭帕德參加了今天的訓練，他將隨隊出征桑德蘭，如無意外他也會隨隊飛到日
本。至少，我們終於有一位重要的球員回歸了，我們需要他的鬥志和經驗。無論是順
境還是逆境的情況下，你派上蘭帕德，他都能帶來積極的影響，他是一個很有實力的
球員，能進球，也能傳出好球。”


“斯圖里奇也有參加訓練，但明天的比賽對他而言太早了，不過他仍有可能去日
本參賽，稍後我們會看看情況如何。”

BENITEZ: FRANK INVOLVEMENT COULD BE KEY

Rafael Benitez believes Frank Lampard can play an important role in
reversing our recent poor form, but will likely start Saturday's game at
Sunderland on the bench.


The midfielder returns to the squad today after recovering from a calf
injury sustained in late October against Shakhtar Donetsk, though Benitez
considers this afternoon's encounter at the Stadium of Light as too
demanding for the 34-year-old.


'He's not ready yet. He is training but the tempo of the game and match
fitness is different so he will need some time,' said the interim
first-team coach. 'He needs to come back little by little, but he cannot
start the game.'


Lampard's injury coincided with our drop off in form, though Benitez
considers it more coincidence than a reason for our struggles.


'It's too simplistic, because some games we were winning without John
Terry and without Lampard,' he said. 'They are important players because
they have experience and character, but at the same time they were winning
with other players involved.'


Benitez is of course well aware of Lampard's qualities, having managed
Liverpool against us 20 times in four seasons, and discussed where the
player's return will help the side.


'Lampard has experience and he's not scared when we are in possession. He
can find players between the lines, get into the box and score goals,'
said the Spaniard. 'He is a different kind of midfielder to the ones we
have available at the moment. Some of them can work, can pass, maybe a bit
of everything, but Frank can make a difference and it's good for me.


'We have dynamic players with good movement, so if he can link with them
fine. He can play a bit higher because his timing getting into the box is
very good.


'He can be important at set-pieces. He won't be box to box like 10 years
ago, but he will be more important when we are in possession, to
understand the game is a key part of the game too.'
