西武外野手松井稼頭央(42歲)決定在本季結束後脫下球衣引退。
松井稼頭央為1994年選秀第3指名加入西武球團。
第3年開始已固定先發游擊手出賽。1997年起連續3年拿下盜壘王。2002年打出333成績「3成打擊率、 30支全壘打、30盜壘」。
2003年結束後挑戰大聯盟加入大都會，並在隔年開幕戰就打出「首打席全壘打」，後來陸續到洛磯與太空人。
2010年季末結束旅美生涯，2011年加入日職樂天於13年拿下首次日本一，2017年季末回到老東家加入西武。
