先簡單介紹一下荷蘭車手Mathieu van der Poel
他出身於自行車世家
父親Adri van der Poel及外公Raymond Poulidor(法)都是自行車名將
目前效力於Alpecin–Fenix車隊
他雙棲公路自行車以及越野登山車
前陣子的環法第二站 拿下單站冠軍及黃衫的那一刻
想到自己的外公 情緒激動 久久不能自已
之後為了保住黃衫 更是拚到筋疲力竭
直到第八站被Tadej Pogacar(奧運公路車銅牌)奪走
好像扯遠了
該說一下這次事件的經過
原本MVDP也是本次賽事奪牌熱門之一
但是在第一圈的Sakura Drop這個區域
連人帶車往前翻 嚴重摔車

過了一分鐘後才又忍痛爬起來繼續參賽
但最後還是在第五圈時於補給區宣布退賽
退賽後隨即到醫院檢查
事後他表示 那一區在練習時有個平台
但正賽時竟然撤掉了 他以為那個平台還在
發現時也已經來不及了 結果慘摔
