老爹在大聯盟的1746場比賽中總共盜壘11次。

你知不知道生涯出場數達到跟老爹等級差不多的球員中，有多少人的盜壘次數比他少？

白襪的Paul Konerko九次。上一季Nick Pietruszkiewicz在推特上揶揄他，說應該用71歲
的Omar Vizquel當他的代跑。


印地安人隊的明星Vic Wertz(最著名的是1954年世界大賽被Willie Mays接殺，這次接殺
被許多人認為是史上最強的接殺)。不過Wertz生涯打出42支三壘安打。


Frank Howard(slugging Gentle Giant)八次。


名人堂捕手Ernie Lombardi可以說是史上最慢的棒球選手：「他不只揹著鋼琴跑，他還多
揹了調音器。」


老爹過去三季盜壘只有一次，上一次是去年6/21對教士。

Terry Francona:“I 'm not sure what he was doing. Once he went, I didn't know
whether he was going to come back or not."

回歸到今天這場在Rogers Centre的比賽。七局上落後一分，老爹在一壘，Sweeney在打擊
。大家想問的是:搞錯的人是老爹還是Sweeney？


都不是，老爹自己決定要跑的。不過Bobby Valentine並沒有像嚼嚼一樣那麼驚訝，他說
他知道老爹在跟一壘指Alex Ochoa講他要盜壘。


" He would run if they’re going to play behind him and he could get a good
jump and pick a good pitch." Valentine said.


一壘手Adam Lind在老爹背後，而左投Darren Oliver完全沒在管老爹，所以當Oliver啟動
時老爹就低著頭往二壘衝。


“ I don’t know, a one-run game in the seventh inning is a little dicey,"
Valentine said.


Valentine認為這個想法很好:
“I’d say I’ts going to get guys to hold him on base and create a hole for
guys hitting behind him. It’s a necessary strategy."


其實計畫蠻成功的，老爹順利滑到二壘，但是被二壘審Ted Barrett判定出局。藍鳥捕手
J.P. Arrencibia跪著傳球，將球迅速的直傳二壘。


Pedroia:"I thought it was great,He had a read on [Oliver]. J.P. made a heck of
a throw from his knees and put it on the base. That was an unbelievable throw."


如果紅襪以1-2輸球，那這件事恐怕會被拿出來炒。這大概就是為什麼WBZ Radio的Jonny
Miller問老爹這個問題時他會生氣的說:"Why don’t you ask me about the two
rockets I hit?"


他表示跑的原因除了Adam Lind在他背後之外，還有

"I also feel a little faster this year."


對於Arencibia的傳球，老爹有話要說:

"That’s not fair. He should make that throw when guys are fast. No offense."

"I was safe, by the way."


老爹到比賽結束後還在試著說服Barrett說他安全上壘。
