As best we can tell, no up-and-coming 23-year-old star has signed a
seven-year contract in the past 12 minutes.

Oh, all right. Not all of them. Hard as it may be to believe this -- in a
week when Ryan Braun, Hanley Ramirez, Joakim Soria and Scott Kazmir signed
deals guaranteeing them more than $155 million combined -- long-term
contracts are not for everybody.
