Carmelo Anthony expresses doubt over future with Knicks
Anthony, the All-Star forward who has a full no-trade clause in his contract,
was asked by reporters whether he could guarantee his presence on the team
next season.

“S---, I don’t know,’’ Anthony said, according to the New York Post. “
Honestly … it’s hard to answer those type of questions when you don’t know
what’s going to happen. We still have a month left to the season. To be
thinking, ‘Am I going to be on this team next (season)?’ That’s for you to
speculate.”

Anthony and Knicks president Phil Jackson recently met in Denver for dinner
and discussed the direction of the franchise. “It’s on the front office,”
he said, “to do their jobs for what they see fit for the team.”

In a recent interview with Yahoo Sports, Anthony also weighed in on the
subject.

Q: How much power do you have with [your] no-trade clause?
Anthony: “I guess I have all the power. If I really wanted to get out of
this situation I could have waived that no-trade clause. But I’ve stuck with
it and I’m still sticking with it. I don’t know, maybe my loyalty has come
back to bite me in the ass. As of right now, I am sticking to it.”
問：對於霸王條款你有多少權力去控制？
甜瓜：我想我可以完全隨心所欲。假如我真的很想擺脫現狀，我大可放棄霸王條款，但我

The Knicks will be under pressure in free agency, without a first-round pick
in this year’s draft and having missed the playoffs in three consecutive
seasons. Anthony turns 32 in May. A recent ESPN report indicated he may
explore his options on the trade market if New York is unable to upgrade its
team.
