其實嚴格來說Cole的改造能成功 按他自己的說法很大部份要歸功於Verlander

是Verlander教了他正確的扣球方式後 他的轉速才暴增 變成三振型投手

很有趣的是

Verlander雖然生涯大部分時間都在愛操投手的教練下打球 (Leyland/Baker)

但他身邊總是不缺強投隊友

而且Verlander這些隊友 很多都是和他同隊後才開竅或是投出生涯新高

幾個案例:

Edwin Jackson: 進唯一一次明星賽

Scherzer: 拿賽揚獎

Doug Fister: 進化成頂級二號

Anibal Sanchez: 拿防禦率王


如果說Cole的教學不是個案

那Verlander這種能讓隊友變強的影響力

在現在的數據棒球下似乎是被嚴重低估其價值了
