這會是雙方的第七次交手(應該是莎娃目前對戰次數最多的)

莎娃之前取得五勝一負的成績，包括今年在印地安泉決賽、溫網八強的勝利。

戴娃受訪時是這麼表示對莎娃的看法的：

"She's very focused; it's all about her concentration,'' Dementieva said.

"She plays every ball like it's the last one and she doesn't give you an
easy point. You have to work hard against her.

"She has a great serve with good variation. I like to return serve, but
whether I can hold my serve is the question.''
