ATP refuses the sale of the Metz tournament (以下為Google 翻譯)
October 9, Yvon Gérard, general manager of the Moselle Open, tournament
created in 2003, said he sold the race to Robert Han, a businessman "at the
head of CSB, an industry consortium in Asia Pacific " for financial reasons.
But on Wednesday night, the ATP announced refusing sale.
"The demand of the Metz tournament to be sold and transferred to Taiwan has
not been approved by the Steering Committee of the ATP , the statement said.
If ATP consider requests case by case, it is not common for a tournament to
be transferred from one region to another, from Europe to Asia in this case.
Concerning the request for Metz, there was no consensus within the steering
committee would have to approve the application. "
The ATP does not specify if the current owner can look for another buyer or
if the tournament simply disappears. "No formal communication will be made
before November 28" , for his part, said the press secretary of the event.
