歷史重演?昔有喬丹掀翻adidas 今有柯瑞打垮Nike?
1984年,小品牌NIKE簽下當時還是大學籃壇希望之星的麥可喬丹,當時美國體育市場的霸
主是adidas和Reebok。在喬丹進入NBA之後,迅速成長為籃球巨星,NIKE借力喬丹一舉拿
下美國市場,將adidas從盤踞了幾十年的霸主地位上拉下馬來。
在喬丹加入NBA的一年之前,NIKE在1983年的總收入不到90萬美金。時至今日,NIKE已經
是巨無霸,旗下的籃球鞋系列Jordan Brand年入十數億美金,成為了NIKE的搖錢樹。令人
驚訝的是,Nike如今被Under Armour 以同樣的方式逼入窘境。令人惋惜的是,這一切的
導演依然可以說是NIKE自己。
Under Armour的成功之路卻簡直像美好的意外。因為它簽約的唯一籃球球星柯瑞,竟然是
競爭對手NIKE拋棄的!柯瑞生涯的前四年一直是NIKE的簽約球員,但由於柯瑞因為傷病而
被NIKE嚴重低估,續約時NIKE積極性不高。
當時Under Armour找上門來時,Under Armour在美國國內的籃球鞋市場僅占0.35%,而競
爭對手NIKE及其子品牌(Jordan Brand、Converse)的市場份額則達到了統治級的92.6%
。如今看來,Under Armour投資柯瑞,簡直可以被稱為過去十年最佳風險投資之一。根據
Under Armour財報顯示,在柯瑞的助力下其營收連續21個季度增長超過20%,其網路商店
的流量一年增長了超過300%!
其中,柯瑞一代戰靴的熱銷使得鞋類銷售額達到1.53億美元,比去年同期大漲40.2%。同
時,Under Armour已經計畫圍繞柯瑞打造一個有如Jordan Brand之於NIKE 的10億美元級
別的籃球品牌。顯而易見,Under Armour從簽約柯瑞開始,不斷沿著柯瑞走紅的路徑,為
他量身定制了品牌進攻策略。
對於體育品牌,球星代言模式從喬丹開始成為了必備行銷手段,球星身上的巨大經濟價值
讓體育品牌趨之若鶩。今天柯瑞已經成為了NBA現役最有話題性的球員,美國街頭每個小
孩都希望像柯瑞一樣打球,他則在賽場上帶著金州勇士連破紀錄,並且極度有可能打破喬
丹時代公牛的72勝10敗的歷史最佳戰績。
所以,當柯瑞續簽Under Armour的消息公佈後,Under Armour公司的股價立即創下歷史新
高,一度達到103.56美元的歷史最高值,最終收盤價為103.36美元,上漲了4.74%。在網
路時代,明星的一舉一動相比30多年以前更具話題性和傳播力。而並不具備完整世界觀的
孩子們對明星的崇拜,在轉化為經濟效益時表現的更加卓越。
在這樣的環境下,粉絲的傳播讓明星效應更為強大,這也是為什麼體育品牌們不斷加大明
星投資的原因。也正是在感受到威脅之後,NIKE開始警惕,於是對旗下老牌明星如詹姆斯
