有關衝浪的術語 - 衝浪運動討論

從dictionary.com查到的資料是說不知道這個意思與可以吃的熱狗的關係。

不過字面的意思推敲：

dog - verb, to follow or track like a dog, esp. with hostile intent; hound.

hot - adjective. Slang. skillful in a reckless or daring way: a hot pilot.

衝管浪也可叫做dogging.

綜合上列所述，我認為是在譬喻衝浪者或滑雪者如"技巧純熟的獵犬，緊盯著目標"。

然後再演變成形容詞，形容浪。

hot dog - adjective. of, indicating, or for a type of sports activity,
esp. surfing or skiing, in which intricate and potentially dangerous
stunts are performed.

不過現在各種運動都都可以用這個詞了。

He was a shameless hot dog on the tennis court, smashing every ball.
