Meanwhile, the Dodgers haven't stopped looking for pitching. They have been
negotiating for the return of swingman Jeff Weaver and are monitoring several
rehabbing free-agent pitchers, including Chien-Ming Wang and Noah Lowry.

The Dodgers watched Wang throw off flat ground last week but believe he is
three months or more away from pitching in a game. Lowry's scheduled workout
for scouts Tuesday was postponed.

Wang three months from 100 percent health?
Feb. 1, 2010 - 10:40 PM ET

The Dodgers saw Chien-Ming Wang (shoulder) throw off flat ground last week
and believe he's at least three months from being 100 percent.

That won't help the 29-year-old's stock. He's drawn interest this winter
from close to a dozen teams, including the Dodgers, Mets and Cardinals,
but it's unlikely that any of them would sign Wang to a major league contract
before he proves the health of his surgically-repaired right shoulder. Wang
may have to wait until the season gets going before he finds a deal, unless
some desperate club suddenly decides he's worth the risk.
