No surprise, Raptors will let Chris Boucher’s contract fully guarantee
tomorrow. Only reason to waive him would’ve been to maximize cap space. Now
that they’re operating above cap, this is an easy call. The $7M he’s owed
this season is great value for an improving rotation player
Plan is to use Boucher primarily at PF this year. He’ll be an important part
of the Raptors’ frontcourt rotation and could start while Siakam (shoulder
surgery) is out early in the season.
As it stands…
Fully guaranteed: Siakam, VanVleet, Dragic, Anunoby, Trent, Boucher, Birch,
Barnes, Achiuwa, Flynn.
Non/partial guarantees: Watanabe, Gillespie, Champagnie, Dekker, Wainright.
