騎士隊在季後賽前兩輪8戰全勝，主將詹姆斯勇冠三軍，控衛厄文亦在關鍵時刻挺身而出，唯有「愛神」洛夫顯得黯淡無光，「3巨頭」變成了「雙核心」。身陷這種尷尬的處境，洛夫說：「我們8勝0敗，就算我只投5次籃我也不介意，這跟我投15次籃沒有分別，只要贏球就好。」
總教練泰隆盧說：「這一部分是我的錯，我們並沒有積極使用洛夫，因為對手的內線很強，影響他在防守對位上的優勢。洛夫一直都很棒，他有求勝意志，這是季後賽最寶貴的本錢。我們會在東區決賽讓他有更多機會。」
洛夫有兩場比賽的第4節都坐板凳，平均得分亦下滑許多，他說：「我以前也遇過這種情況，但我們正在贏球，所以我很開心，我感覺很好。」
洛夫的識大體也贏得泰隆盧的讚賞。泰隆盧表示，暴龍大前鋒伊巴卡是優秀的防守球員，因此他限制了洛夫的進攻機會。「這是洛夫成長的證明，他以球隊勝負為優先，他明白這一切的意義，就是要爭奪總冠軍。」
