Celtics Shopping No. 3 Pick For Butler, Hayward, Parker, Middleton


The Boston Celtics have been pursuing a number of established veterans,
building a trade package around the third overall pick in Thursday's draft.

The Celtics have been working to put together a package for either Jimmy
Butler, Gordon Hayward, Jabari Parker or Khris Middleton.

Boston, so far, has been unable to make any progress with the Bulls, Jazz or
Bucks, respectively.

The Celtics acquired the third overall pick from their 2013 trade with the
Brooklyn Nets, giving them the rare opportunity to be a playoff team with
such a high draft pick.

76ers Offering Either Jahlil Okafor, Nerlens Noel To Boston For 3rd Pick


The Philadelphia 76ers have been trying to acquire the third overall pick
from the Boston Celtics.

The 76ers already own the top overall pick and plan on selecting Ben Simmons.

The 76ers have been offering Jahlil Okafor or Nerlens Noel as part of a
package to the Celtics for the pick, but those pitches have so far been
resisted.

Okafor and Noel have struggled in their minutes together so far and
Philadelphia is encouraged by the progress Joel Embiid has made coming back
from multiple foot surgeries.

Joel Embiid Cleared For 5-On-5 Scrimmage


Joel Embiid has been cleared to start scrimmaging in five-on-five settings.

Embiid has missed his first two NBA seasons after being drafted third overall
by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2014.

The soundness of his problematic right foot should continue to allow him to
begin preparations for next season.

Embiid is expected to travel to Las Vegas for the 76ers’ entry in the summer
league in July but only to practice with the team, but is not expected to
participate.
