Multiple sources said the Nets have trade scenarios and alternate plans set
up and that one could happen in the next six weeks. Many Western teams have
been looking to deal. Some think they're close to contending, and could with
either Vince Carter or Jason Kidd. Some East teams also are interested, but
if the Nets move either player, they would rather it be out West. Seattle's
Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett are on the Nets' radar. But Minnesota is trying
to put players around Garnett. The Nets like Minnesota's Randy Foye, but much
more would have to be involved for Carter or Kidd. When asked what the Nets
want for Carter, a league source said, "They want everything." The Nets want
a combination of players -- including one big man -- and draft picks. For
Kidd, they would want more.
