The Nuggets and New Jersey Nets were in sync - after the game.

New Jersey won the game 112-102 over the Nuggets at the Pepsi Center on
Saturday. The reasons why were crystal clear for individuals on both teams to
see.

The Nuggets lacked so much of those things that Vince Carter scorched them for
40 points, seven rebounds and six assists. They lacked so much of those things
that little-known Nets reserve forward Bostjan Nachbar appeared nearly
unstoppable while scoring a career-high 22 points.

lot of it has been kind of on their role player coming off the bench giving
the other team a big lift."

Utah's Ronnie Brewer was that player Friday and Nachbar fit the role Saturday.
But they weren't the only players to hurt the Nuggets. Jason Kidd had 18
points, 12 rebounds and four assists. Antoine Wright and Marcus Williams had
11 points apiece for the Nets.

The Nuggets (22-19) were outrebounded 45-38. Despite making just 44 percent of
its shots, Denver had only four offensive rebounds and four second-chance
points. New Jersey had 10 steals and three blocks, and even had more fast-
break points, 14-10.

That was Carter's analysis, too.

It worked.

Carter was 12-of-14 from the line. But New Jersey, which was on a three-game
skid, buckled down on the Nuggets' top scorers, Carmelo Anthony and Allen
Iverson. The duo combined for 41 points on 11-of-33 shooting. Anthony, with 23
points, was 5-of-14 from the field.

Anthony acknowledged that fatigue from playing an intense contest the night
before might have affected the Nuggets' performance.

Iverson, though, wasn't buying that. "That had nothing to do with it," Iverson
said. "They were just better than we were tonight."
