Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that talks are underway to
extend his current contract as Blues boss but says there are currently
more important things for him to focus on.

The German last signed a contract extension following Chelsea's Champions
League triumph just over a year ago, a deal which sees him through to the
summer of 2024.
When quizzed on whether fresh talks to extend his contract have taken
place in recent months, the boss did reveal that discussions have been
held with the club's hierarchy, even if they are at the earliest of
stages.
'There are talks, but I think given the situation where we come from and
where we are right now, in the middle of the transfer period, I think it
is for the best if I focus on my team and being competitive,' Tuchel said,
with a smile.

'You know how glad I am to be here and how much I like it. It is a good
thing.'
The boss is often an animated figure on the touchline but he admits he may
have crossed a line last weekend against Tottenham Hotspur, after he was
given a red card following an altercation with former Blues boss Antonio
Conte.
However the Bavarian does believe that scenarios like those last Sunday
are examples of his passion for the football club.
'I am passionate about this club and my team especially in moments when we
fight and in games in this kind of level. It kind of sucks me into the
matches and I get passionate about it,' the boss said.

'I felt it before as well [love from the fans]. I believe the fans feel
that I am passionate about what am I doing. I didn't do this to prove a
point. I hope this will be my last red card of the season!' Tuchel said.
'I crossed a line that I shouldn't have crossed as a coach.
'Nobody questions my passion and how happy I am to be here and to fight.
My love for the group, and I see myself as part of this group and I am
happy that we have the support of the fans because we need them. They make
such a difference.'
