The Cavs and Pistons entered Game 5 of the 2007 Eastern Conference finals
tied up at two games apiece. It had been a tight, low-scoring series prior to
that game. The first four contests were each decided by six points or less —
but nothing could prepare NBA fans for what happened on May 31, 2007.

double-overtime victory. The one non-James point was provided by Drew Gooden,
who made one of two at the free-throw line with 2:49 left in the fourth
quarter.

It wasn't just the crazy scoring streak — it was how LeBron did it. Opposing
coaches hoped young LeBron would settle for jumpers as opposed to strong
drives toward the rim, but on this night, he did just about everything. He
finished at the basket with ease, drilled pull-up jumpers and stretched his
range out beyond the 3-point line.

the No. 1 seed in the East. They had no answers.

free-throw line), nine rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 50-plus
minutes of game action.

"Why should I be surprised? I was making a lot of great moves," James said.

Cleveland closed out the series with a 98-82 win in Game 6. The Spurs swept
the Cavs in the Finals, but the fact that James dragged the likes of Gooden,

series is an impressive accomplishment by itself.
