Look, the Warriors probably aren’t trading for Ben Simmons.

The idea got floated all offseason and resurfaced again Tuesday when ESPN
reported that the All-Star point guard will refuse to report to the
Philadelphia 76ers’ training camp next week and is finished with the
franchise. He wants to be shipped to the West Coast, a league source said.

In an interview with The Chronicle on Tuesday, Warriors owner Joe Lacob said
in reference to a “Defensive Player of the Year candidate in Philadelphia”

looking at everything to see if we can improve our team. We would always look.

To make a deal work amid salary-cap restraints, the Warriors would have to
part with Andrew Wiggins or Draymond Green and another player. The 76ers also
are asking for a front-line player to be added to the deal, along with four
or five first-round picks.
若要在薪資條件限制下完成這樁交易，勇士得要拿出Andrew Wiggins，Draymond Green或
者其他球員。而且在這交易內，76人還要一個一線球星，以及4個或5個首輪籤。

Houston got four first-round picks and four pick swaps for James Harden in
January, but Simmons is not Harden.

During the 2021 playoffs, Simmons fell past Shaquille O’Neal and Wilt
Chamberlain as the worst postseason free-throw shooter ever and did not
attempt a fourth-quarter field goal in five of the seven games in the Eastern
Conference semifinals.

playmaking. That’s one issue. The salary structure is another.”

camp opens Tuesday, could offer only Wiggins at $31.6 million or Green ($24
