The Athletics took another step toward relocating from Oakland to Las Vegas on W
ednesday, when the Nevada Assembly passed an amended stadium bill, Senate Bill 1
(SB1), by a vote of 25-15 (with two absent votes), and the Senate quickly concu
rred.
If Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo signs the bill, which he has championed, the final s
tep in the A's bid to relocate would come when MLB owners vote to approve or den
y the move.

rnor Lombardo’s desk for signature. He has been a big proponent for bringing ML
B to Las Vegas so it’s a done deal.
Last piece of business is for 75% of MLB’s owners to approve the relocation.

In light of the Athletics’ pursuit of a ballpark in Las Vegas, California lawma
kers introduced the “Moneyball Act” on Tuesday.
The bill would require owners of any professional baseball team seeking relocati
on to “compensate the state and local authorities they move away from.”
此案規定任何一支要搬家的職業棒球隊
須支付原本城市$$$才可走
The “Moneyball Act” would apply to MLB teams who move more than 25 miles away
from their previous home field. If owners don’t provide compensation, the leagu
e would be subject to antitrust laws it has been exempt from since the 1920s.
搬到距離原本城市25英里以外的地區都要付
若不付，大聯盟將失去原本特有的反托拉斯法豁免
The compensation, per the bill, would be “not less than the state, local and or
tribal tax revenue levied in the 10 years prior to the date of relocation” and
“paid respectively to each state, local and or tribal government which levied
taxes on the club in 10 years prior to the date of relocation.”
看來是要至少付完十年的稅款才能走
