summer in a move to keep rivals away

The North Londoners will win their first trophy in six years if they beat
Birmingham in the Carling Cup final at Wembley on Sunday afternoon and, with
the club in a strong financial position, Wenger wants the stability and
security that the new deals would offer.

secure all six on new deals.

Arsenal are engaged in securing their young players on long-term contracts
with Wenger and chief executive Ivan Gazidis prioritising a stable wage
structure over investment in transfers. Only Manuel Almunia is out of
contract this summer.

medium-term deals due to their age.
