Internationals: Young England slip against young Swedes

All five of the Chelsea Academy players contesting the European Under-17
Championship finals in Azerbaijan began Sweden's 2-1 victory over Sweden
on Friday afternoon.


Defender Joseph Colley (pictured) was the Swedes' captain while Trevoh
Chalobah skippered England, for whom Jared Thompson was in goal with
schoolboy Dujon Sterling joining Chalobah in defence. Another member of
our recent FA Youth Cup-winning team, Mason Mount was part of the
midfield.


England went behind after only four minutes of their opening group game
and the lead was doubled after an hour of the 80-minute encounter, both
goals scored by Sunderland's Joel Asoro. England pulled one back just
three minutes later when Arsenal's Reiss Nelson scored from a Sterling
ball but despite coming heavy second-half pressure, the Scandinavians hung
on for the three points.


England next play France on Monday with Sweden up against Denmark the same
day. The French and the Danes began their tournament with a goalless draw.

四名切爾西青訓球員在阿塞拜疆舉行的U-17歐錦賽上全部為英格蘭隊出場，他們
幫助球隊擊敗衛冕冠軍。


特雷沃˙查洛巴作為球隊的隊長，另外斯特林、門將湯普森和芒特都為史蒂夫˙
庫珀的球隊出場，三獅青年軍在C組的比賽中2-0擊敗法國。芒特在比賽進行到15分鐘
後參與了球隊的第一個進球，他精彩的腳後跟傳球給多澤爾，而後者最終助攻莫里斯
破門。


比賽下半場開始不久，英格蘭擴大比分優勢，來自阿森納的雷斯˙尼爾森在禁區
內被對方門將犯規，在導致法國隊門將被罰下的同時，英格蘭隊也獲得一粒點球，這
名前鋒親自主罰命中。芒特在最後10分鐘被換下。本場比賽在主辦國阿塞拜疆的首度
巴庫舉行。


英格蘭首次在小組賽拿到三分，而這場勝利也讓英格蘭有機會爭奪八強的席位。
5月12日，他們將在最後一場小組賽中面對丹麥，如果能夠擊敗小組領頭羊，英格蘭
隊將確保晉級。


在C組中，藍軍後衛科利擔任隊長的瑞典隊不敵丹麥，他們在補時階段被對手攻
入制勝球。17歲的科利再次出任球隊中後衛。瑞典隊現在排名小組第二，與英格蘭一
樣同積3分，他們將於週四對陣法國。
