現年41歲的養樂多投手五十嵐亮太，正式向球團提出引退，結束長達23年的職棒生涯。
歷經養樂多、大都會、藍鳥、洋基，曾拿過日職救援王、中繼王，美日通算905場出賽。
作為牛棚投手出賽超過900場，這是僅次於岩瀨、米田、金田等神獸，排名第4高的紀錄。
在去年還有登板45場的五十嵐，原本開季時還以挑戰1000場出賽為目標，但碰上疫情延期導致調整不佳，今年都在二軍度過，最終還是決定脫下球鞋。
五十嵐亮太最有名的，應該是他曾經是日職最速紀錄保持人。

他在2004年投出158公里的球速，追平山口和男跟伊良部秀輝的紀錄，很長一段時間這個數字被當作一個障礙，直到佐藤由規、大谷翔平等怪物終於打破這道牆。
想當年看到NHK的轉播覺得五十嵐球速好快，如今日本已經不少投手能摸到160。
先是藤川、現在是五十嵐，感覺一個時代又結束了。
