Chelsea Here Chelsea There: Tomori underway at Milan, goals for Barkley,

In our look at the loan highlights for our players out on loan, there has
been plenty of action both in England and overseas…

Fikayo Tomori, who went on loan to Italy late last month, made two
appearances for Serie A leaders AC Milan in the past week.
Having come on 20 minutes into a Coppa Italia match against city rivals
Inter last Tuesday, a game that ended in a 2-1 defeat, Tomori kept his
place for his Serie A debut at the weekend in a 2-1 win at Bologna. He
earned praise afterwards from Milan manager Stefano Pioli.
In other games in Italy, Napoli did make it through to the semi-finals of
the Coppa Italia by beating Spezia 4-2. Tiemoue Bakayoko came on at the
very end of that one and he was introduced with 20 minutes remaining on
Sunday as fifth-place Napoli beat Parma 2-0. Davide Zappacosta was part of
the Genoa side that won 3-0 at Crotone.
In France at the weekend, one of our players was involved in an
eye-catching result. Trevoh Chalobah came on at half-time in Lorient's
game against PSG with the score 1-1. The Paris side then took the lead
with the second of two converted Neymar penalties but third-from-bottom
Lorient bounced back with goals in the 80th and 91st minutes to take a
notable three points. It was the first defeat for PSG under Mauricio
Pochettino.
Armando Broja scored a midweek goal, his seventh in the Dutch Eredivisie,
but it was in vain as Vitesse lost 4-1 at VVV. The young striker then
played 55 minutes of a 1-1 draw at home to RJK Waalwijk.

There was a big midweek defeat for Juan Castillo and struggling Den Haag
at Groningen, the left-back and his side going down 3-0, but they did take
a point from a 1-1 draw when they hosted Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday.
In the Premier League and the divisions below in England there have been
two rounds of matches in the past week, and Michy Batshuayi scored an
extremely late goal for Crystal Palace at home to in-form West Ham last
Tuesday. It was not enough to prevent defeat for the Eagles, who were 3-1
down when our striker, who came on midway through the second half, slotted
the ball into the net with six added minutes played.

He then led the attack as Palace beat Wolves 1-0 at Selhurst Park at the
weekend to leapfrog their opponents in the table.
Ross Barkley was another on the scoresheet in the past seven days but not
before he was in the Aston Villa side beaten 3-2 by Burnley midweek. He
hit the bar in that game but was on target with the only goal of the match
which beat Southampton at St Mary's on Saturday. It was a rare headed
goal, his first of that type in the Premier League in four years, which
did the damage just before half-time.

Marc Guehi played in a midweek top-four clash in the Championship,
Swansea's game at home to Brentford ending in a 1-1 draw, and followed it
up with victory at Rotherham where three goals were put past another
Chelsea loanee, Jamal Blackman, in goal. The 3-1 win leaves the Swans four
points behind league leaders Norwich while Rotherham are in the bottom
three. Izzy Brown was a late sub in Sheffield Wednesday's 2-0 defeat at
Coventry.
On Tuesday in League One, Accrington Stanley beat league leaders Hull
City 2-0 with Tariq Uwakwe, who had earlier seen a shot saved, providing
the pass for the first of two second-half goals. Nathan Baxter in goal
kept a clean sheet, making a good save with the score 1-0. Uwakwe then got
his second assist of the week with a cross for the goal that put
Accrington 2-1 up at Plymouth, but the game ended all-square at 2-2.
Baxter was in goal for that one too with Jon Russell an unused sub in both
matches.

On Saturday midfielder Luke McCormick was a late sub in Bristol Rovers 2-1
home defeat by Rochdale.
Another of our young goalies, Jamie Cumming, also kept a clean sheet last
Tuesday, in a 0-0 draw for Stevenage at home to Colchester in League Two,
and he followed that up with a weekend 2-1 win at Grimsby which moved
Stevenage up to fourth from bottom.
On Tuesday over in Belgium, Matt Miazga played for Anderlecht in a 1-1
draw at Excel Mouscron, his side's equaliser coming right at the death,
and the defender followed that up with a clean sheet and another draw when
Anderlecht hosted Gent on Sunday. Miazga's team are fifth in the Belgium
top flight.
In Turkey, Lewis Baker came on just three minutes into Trabzonspor's visit
to high-flying Besiktas and was part of notable performance, with his side
coming from behind to win 2-1.
There was a 0-0 draw for Kenedy and Granada in Spain when they played at
home to Celta Vigo.
