From what I can tell, #Mets were willing to spend more to complete their deals.
Heard, for example, Canha market was more in Escobar range (2-$20M-ish), but Met
s went to 2-$26.5M. Lots of 3-yr bids for Marte. Mets went to 4. Cohen’s wallet
gives latitude.
