In our weekly round-up of the action involving Chelsea players currently
away from the club, there is news that one player is heading out on loan,
a fine performance yet again from Conor Gallagher and a debut in the
Championship for one loanee…

Crystal Palace qualified for the quarter-final stage of the FA Cup last
Tuesday after beating Championship side Stoke City 2-1. Conor Gallagher
was a second-half substitute, meaning he was well-rested ahead of their
weekend clash at Molineux.


Palace made it three wins from four since Chelsea beat them 1-0 in
mid-February with a huge win at Wolves at the weekend.

Gallagher, playing just behind striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, had a huge
hand in the opening goal after his through-ball opened up the Wolves
defence and released Wilfried Zaha in behind, before the forward fired in
a cross for Mateta to tap home from close range.

The Eagles are now into the top half of the Premier League, and are one of
four sides sitting on 33 points.


Emerson's Lyon got back to winning ways on Friday night as they beat
struggling Lorient 4-1 in Brittany.

The away side were 2-0 up at half-time, with the second goal coming
courtesy of an accurate and well-weighted cross from Emerson, which found
Moussa Dembele in the box before the Frenchman beautifully backheeled home
in the 26th minute.

Lyon are in Europa League action on Wednesday, the first of two tricky
ties against Porto in the Round of 16.


Tino Anjorin made his first appearance for Huddersfield Town as the
Terriers beat Peterborough United 3-0 at the John Smith's Stadium. The
Yorkshire side made it four consecutive wins for the first time this
season, and made it a huge 18 games unbeaten in all competitions.


Anjorin got 20 minutes of action under his belt ahead of a huge contest at
the City Ground this evening, as they take on Nottingham Forest for a
chance of playing Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals.


Levi Colwill was absent from the squad, despite scoring on his birthday
the weekend prior.


Billy Gilmour was unfortunate not to register an assist in Norwich's 3-1
loss at home to Brentford on Saturday.


The Scottish international had slotted Milot Rashica through on goal in
the first half, but the winger's attempt was straight at the Brentford
goalkeeper. Gilmour then followed up the rebound with a left-footed shot,
but blazed over the bar.

The Canaries now face Chelsea on Thursday, with Gilmour ineligible to
feature against his parent club.


Elsewhere in the Premier League, Armando Broja's Southampton suffered a
4-0 loss at Aston Villa. Southampton registered just one shot on target
compared to Villa's nine.

Jake Clarke-Salter and Ian Maatsen both played the full 90 minutes for
Coventry City in the Sky Blues's 3-1 loss to Swansea. Maatsen played in a
more forward role for Mark Robins's side, again showing his versatility
for the Championship side.


In the same division, Dujon Sterling played at right-back for Blackpool in
a fantastic 1-0 away win at Stoke, while Danny Drinkwater's Reading
narrowly lost to Millwall 1-0.


Jamie Cumming was again between the sticks for MK Dons, who beat league
leaders Rotherham on their own patch, to move three points off the League
One automatic promotion spots. Mason Burstow started Charlton's 0-0
stalemate with Sunderland at the weekend, but Juan Castillo was absent
from the matchday squad.


In Italy, Ethan Ampadu was named on the bench for Venezia's 4-1 loss at
home to Sassuolo, leaving them three points adrift of safety in Serie A.


Ampadu was introduced just after the hour mark in a match that featured
four penalties, Sassuolo scoring all three of theirs, with Venezia missing
their spot-kick.


Michy Batshuayi's Besiktas play again tonight at 5pm UK time, in a huge
clash with Istanbul Basaksehir in the race for the top four.

Chelsea's PL2 leading goalscorer Bryan Fiabema will spend the rest of the
2022 calendar year on loan at Norwegian top division side Rosenborg BK.
Their domestic league season is scheduled to begin in just over a month's
time and runs spring to autumn.

Fiabema heads to Norway


Fiabema has been heavily involved in the development squad over the course
of the season so far, featuring in the PL2 as well as the UEFA Youth
League competition. In total this year he found the scoresheet eight times
in 20 games.


He joined our Academy from Norwegian club Tromso in February 2020. His new
loan club Rosenborg finished fifth last year in their division.
