ESPN drew a 2.4 overnight rating for the 2016 NBA Draft after a record-
setting 3.1 in each of the past two years.

The draft was considered weak and the first two picks, Ben Simmons to the
Philadelphia 76ers and Brandon Ingram to the Los Angeles Lakers, were known
in advance.

It was the lowest rated draft since 2012.

主要的原因在於今年被不少人認定是選秀小年，而且七六人用狀元籤選Ben Simmons
與湖人用榜眼籤選Brandon Ingram這兩件事，早就在不少球迷的預期中。也因此，
今年選秀會的收視率是2012年以來最低的

Adrian Wojnarowski's The Vertical ran a competing simulcast with analysis,
news and the announcement of picks before ESPN on an online stream that
received positive reviews.

此外，Yahoo NBA線當家記者Adrian Wojnarowski，透過自己主導的The Vertical網站
同步轉播、解析最新消息，甚至搶在ESPN之前就公布各球隊的選擇，而Woj今年的選秀
轉播有獲得不少好評。

A Yahoo spokesperson told Awful Announcing Friday the almost-four-hour stream
drew 3.7 million total video views, reached more than 2.8 million unique
viewers across all devices, and averaged 34 minutes of watch time per user.

Yahoo發言人表示︰該網站將近4小時的選秀轉播，共吸引了370萬次點閱量、至少280
萬人用各種3C設備收看，而他們的收看時間也超過30分鐘

ESPN's coverage averaged 2.994 million viewers compared to Yahoo's total
number of viewers.

相較之下，ESPN受到Yahoo的衝擊，仍然願意透過此頻道收看轉播的球迷已經跌破
三百萬。

心得:恭喜Yahoo與Woj，看來不只Woj蒐集情資的功力足以拯救Yahoo運動部門，
就連轉播重要事件的網路串連，也逐漸成為令ESPN感到不舒服的威脅了，
這也算是讓這位資深記者，締造了新一頁的媒體傳說

據說明年選秀的人才庫素質比今年好，但不曉得兩大媒體的收視
又會有怎樣的消長呢？
