簡單來說，WTA 因為彭帥的事件暫停/取消所有的中國跟香港的賽事。WTA 主席認為彭帥
無法自由的發言，並相信她是被迫反駁她自己提出的性脅迫指控。在這樣的情況下，他無
法要求運動員在這樣的地方比賽。

“With the full support of the WTA Board of Directors, I am announcing the imm
ediate suspension of all WTA tournaments in China, including Hong Kong,” said
the WTA chairman, Steve Simon, announcing the decision in a statement on Wedn
esday.

WTA主席 Steve Simon說道：「在 WTA 董事會的支持下，我宣布從現在起暫停所有的中國
（包含香港）的WTA賽事。」

“In good conscience, I don’t see how I can ask our athletes to compete there
when Peng Shuai is not allowed to communicate freely and has seemingly been p
ressured to contradict her allegation of sexual assault. Given the current sta
te of affairs, I am also greatly concerned about the risks that all of our pla
yers and staff could face if we were to hold events in China in 2022.”

「追隨我的良心，彭帥不被容許自由的發言，且被脅迫反駁她自己提出的性侵指控，我無
法要求我們的運動員在這樣的地方比賽。考慮到當前的情況，如果我們2022年繼續在中國
