When his NBA career comes to an end, Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade thinks he'd
like to become a part-owner of an NBA franchise.

Not just any franchise, either.

"Seattle," Wade told Bloomberg Businessweek in an interview last week. "I
want Seattle’s team, the Sonics, to come back. I think Seattle is a great
basketball town. I would love to be a part of that."

There are plenty of caveats to this plan, of course. Wade was quick to
acknowledge that he doesn't have enough money to purchase a team outright.
There is no imminent plan for the NBA to return to Seattle. And, as of this
month, Wade has not announced any plans to retire. The 36-year-old finished
last season with the Heat, and team president Pat Riley told The Palm Beach
Post on Friday that "nothing has been decided with Dwyane."

Despite all of that, though, Wade told Bloomberg Businessweek that he
"definitely" wants to join an NBA ownership group after his career ends.

"NBA commissioner Adam Silver is all about players being involved in an
ownership capacity," Wade told the magazine. "You’ve got players like Grant
Hill involved in the Atlanta Hawks. Shaquille O’Neal is involved in the
Sacramento Kings. It’s definitely something that I’ve talked about, some of
my friends have talked about."
