The Los Angeles Lakers came up with a huge victory on Sunday, defeating the
Houston Rockets 117-109 in Game 2 of their second-round matchup in the West.
Head coach Frank Vogel was also all praises for Anthony Davis, who was
spectacular for the Purple and Gold all game long.

In fact, Vogel even went as far as to saying that Davis is the Defensive Player
of the Year in his mind — “no disrespect” to Giannis Antetokounmpo.

however, was exceptional as he served as the team’s defensive anchor
throughout the epic Sunday showdown. Davis was particularly impressive down the
stretch, as LA held off the Rockets from coming back in the final period.

AD finished Game 2 with a game-high 34 points on 15-of-24 shooting, along with
10 rebounds, four assists and a block in 36 minutes of play. He was excellent
on the offensive end as the team’s top scorer, but it is clear that coach
Vogel was more impressed with his defense on the evening.

Following Sunday’s Game 2 win, Anthony Davis and the Lakers have now tied the
series with the Rockets at 1-1. More importantly, Frank Vogel squad now
possesses the momentum heading into Game 3 on Tuesday.
