Our young Blues remain in the hunt for the Under-18 Premier League title
as goals from Leo Castledine and Jimi Tauriainen helped navigate us past
Midlands opponents on Saturday afternoon.

It was a game that largely controlled by the visitors and we had some
early chances to take the lead but could not convert the opportunities
that were presented to us.


However, just before half time, Ed Brand would have been pleased as our
pressure told with Castledine converting from the spot to give us a
deserved lead after Silko Thomas was fouled in the penalty area. This was
his sixth goal of the season in the competition.

The second half was more of the same and just after the hour mark, we
doubled our lead. Tauriainen grabbed his second in as many starts after
coming back from injury to all but secure the three points.


Our boys managed the game well and always seemed in control as the home
side could only muster one shot on target in the 90 minutes. The three
points keep us in the race for the southern title, with many teams still
in the hunt for the crown.
