By Ben Sherman - Inside Carolina
Date: Jul 2, 2005
The first of the NBA summer leagues begins in Las Vegas on Wednesday, with
three former Tar Heels already on rosters.
Ed Cota, Kris Lang and Jawad Williams have all been picked up to compete in
the 16-team event from July 6-15.
Cota will play for Washington, after a standout season in Russia. Lang spent
this past season in two leagues -- South Korea and Spain -- and will play
this summer with Portland. Williams, who earned third team all-ACC honors
last season, joins Golden State.
The four North Carolina draft picks -- Marvin Williams, Raymond Felton, Sean
May and Rashad McCants -- will participate in the other two summer leagues,
which begin in two weeks. Jackie Manuel is expected to select a team this
week.
Stay tuned to Inside Carolina for any additional former Heels that will play
in the NBA summer leagues and for regular stats.
