Well up to the task when called on
Somewhat surprisingly, the Czech shot-stopper was worked far more often than
his counterpart at the opposite end. Had to be alert on several occasions,
showing smart reflexes and authority under high balls. Will not fear
Courtois's challenge on this form.

Not at his liveliest but effective
Doesn't always look like a natural at right-back, but was a buccaneering and
adventurous force at the Liberty Stadium, proving width and dangerous
deliveries that were too often wasted.

Not especially worried for much of the match, with Swansea limited to
sporadic breaks forward. Looked more comfortable with the higher line than
his defensive partner and used the ball well.

Occasionally caught out for pace by Swansea's speedsters, notably losing
Routledge, while he allowed Bony to escape and fire a header on goal. That
said, he helped record another clean sheet in a dominant season.

Not as attacking as Ivanovic on the opposite flank and, when he did get
forward, was wasteful. Dyer's pace caught him out on several occasions too.

A leggy and willing runner in midfield, but, with the emphasis placed on
Chelsea to attack and probe, his pure athleticism was not needed, with the
Brazilian offering little creativity. Instead, the cerebral playmaking of
Oscar was introduced at half-time.

Excellent in the middle of the pitch
The Serbian has quickly established himself as an integral part of Mourinho's
thinking and was able to marry his usual doggedness with a bit of craft,
creating Ba's goal with a raking long ball forward. A complete display.

Missed a glorious early chance, hitting the base of the post with the goal
gaping, before slashing another effort high and wide from close range.

With Chelsea hitting a roadblock upon entering the Swans' final third, it was
the Brazilian who looked most capable of finding the killer pass to open up
the defence. Always had a touch of class and has become the main man of
Chelsea's attack in Hazard's absence.

It was the German's driving run that saw Chico Flores sent off, but that
early involvement would prove to be the only telling contribution of a quiet
and ineffective afternoon. Replaced by Eto'o as Mourinho rolled the dice.

After scoring the decisive, tie-winning goal against PSG in midweek, the
Senegal international was rewarded with a starting role and repaid that faith
with another goal. Generally held up the ball well, too. Withdrawn in the

Introduced at the break though looked a little rusty, and didn't bring the
clinical edge Mourinho would have wanted. Impossibly offside to deny Chelsea
the chance to wrap up the win late on, before fluffing his lines a second

Brought on at half-time and given the somewhat unfamiliar role of playing as
a deep, central midfielder. Brought more control and vision than Ramires as
Chelsea began to lay siege.
