Byron Scott: Lakers’ Kobe Bryant showed ‘no fear’ even during rookie season

Missed shots contributed to the end of Lakers coach Byron Scott’s playing
career, his final NBA game coming in the 1997 Western Conference semifinals
series loss to the Utah Jazz.
Yet, Scott hardly holds it against Kobe Bryant that he shot three airballs
his rookie season in the Lakers’ Game 5 defeat in Utah.
1997年季後賽第二輪，湖人對陣爵士，當時湖人以1比2落後爵士，
瀕臨淘汰邊緣，Kobe在這場比賽中投出了3個麵包，最終系列賽1-4敗給爵士。
當時Byron Scott也在湖人陣中。
“He was brave enough to take the shots,” said Scott, whose Lakers hosted
the Jazz on Thursday at Staples Center. “He didn’t fear it at all. He
wanted to take the shots. I knew it would make him stronger and more
determined the next year. He was and has been ever since.”
而今天湖人輸給爵士的賽後，Scott接受採訪時提到了這事...
Scott表示：「Kobe當時很敢投籃，他一點都不害怕，他有著想投籃的大無畏精神。
我知道這念頭會讓他變強大、讓他下個賽季更加堅決。
以前是這樣，以後也會是這樣。」
Bryant has since won five NBA championships, climbed to third place on the
league’s all-time scoring list and sank too many game-winning shots to
count. Does Scott see Lakers rookie guard Jordan Clarkson adopting the same
mentality when he experiences setbacks?
此後，Kobe拿了5冠，總得分排行史上第三名，創造了無數次的絕殺時刻。
那麼，正在經歷挫折的湖人菜鳥Jordan Clarkson是否也有Kobe那種投籃精神呢？
“He has that type of drive and wants to be good,” Scott said. “But Kobe
was special even at 18 years old. You knew the kid was going to be special.
There’s some parallel, but not much.”
Scott說：「他有動力，他想變得更好。但Kobe在當年18歲時就很特別了。
你當時就能感覺到Kobe這小夥子身上散發著不同凡人的氣質。
他倆有些相似之處，但並無太多。」
