Scotland v Australia

Murrayfield, Edinburgh
Saturday, 6 November
Kick-off: 1730 GMT

Scotland face a mountainous task to overcome an Australia side on the rebound
at Murrayfield on Saturday.

The Scots have failed to beat the Wallabies since 1982 and went down to
defeat twice in June in Australia.

Since then Eddie Jones' team have lost to New Zealand and South Africa on
their travels and they will be anxious to get back on the winning track.

Scotland are weakened by the absence of Jason White and Stuart Grimes who
are on duty with their clubs.

Jones has picked a pacy side that will test the Scots, with John Roe making
his run-on debut at number eight and hooker Jeremy Paul ousting the
experienced Brendan Cannon.

In the second-row Daniel Vickerman replaces the injured Nathan Sharpe in
the only other change to the team that lost 23-19 in South Africa.

Scotland did not disgrace themselves in the summer defeats by the Wallabies.

A similar outcome - a hard-fought Australian victory - would probably be
a satisfactory result for the Scotland coach Matt Williams, who will be
able to call on White and Grimes by the time the teams meet again in a
fortnight.

Williams has picked two new caps for the game - the Borders duo of Scott
MacLeod and Scott Gray will make their debuts at second row and flanker
respectively.

Glasgow Warriors back Graeme Morrison will make his first start for
Scotland at centre, while Stuart Moffat wins his first cap for two
years at full-back.

Former captain Chris Paterson plays on the wing, with Dan Parks filling
the fly-half berth.

The team is the first Scotland side to be made up of 15 players who play
their club rugby in Scotland since 1985.
