MATCH SUMMARY

Pens: Paterson
Barbarians (12) 19
Tries: Dawson, Hanley, Marsh
Cons: Malone 2
Scotland set themselves up for their two-Test tour to South Africa with a
comfortable victory over the Barbarians at Murrayfield.
Chris Paterson emerged as the hero of the nine-try romp, claiming a personal
haul of 31 points, including two tries.
The Barbarians gave the Scots an early scare, going ahead through a Kieran
Dawson try.
But the Scots quickly regained control with Mikey Blair and Andy Henderson
also finishing with two tries each.
The Scots opted to play a mixed early game as they combined handling
sequences with kicks into space and their hard work earned them a 24-12
advantage by the break.
They made a spate of changes at the restart, with skipper Jason White among
those being given a breather to be replaced as captain by Paterson.
Paterson's first act of the half was to convert Marcus Di Rollo's try and any
prospect of a Barbarians fightback was ended when substitute hooker Dougie
Hall was driven over by his pack-mates.
Replacement scrum-half Sam Pinder marked his Scotland debut with a try before
France centre Tony Marsh powered over for a third try for the Barbarians.
But it was not long before Scotland notched their half-century through Blair
and they went on to ease to victory.
Scotland: Southwell, Paterson, Di Rollo, Henderson, Lamont, Parks, Blair,
Kerr, Lawson, Smith, Kellock, Murray, White, Brown, Hogg.
