Justine made her way into the 2nd round at Roland Garros defeating breezy
Russian Elena Vesnina 6-4 6-3. It was a rain delayed start time at 18: 30 hrs
for the Belgian heroine. Things hardly looked the spring time bloom in Paris
theme, except the high assortment of stylish umbrella's and raincoats.
Justine will return on Wednesday in a match with young Austrian Tamira Paszek.

"Everyone wants to win over the #1, and have nothing to lose. It certainly
wasn't a simple match, but I'm glad that I could move on. Vesnina played
strongly and exploited her chances."- Justine

Justine started fairly well under the damp, and thick humid weather
conditions which slowed the flight of the ball, and groundstroke hitting.
Elena Vesnina is talented new player that has received a career reward by
nomitation into the latest Russian Fed Cup team. She gave Justine a push from
5-2 down in the first set with spirited, and eager play only to have her
serve broken in the final game. The queen of clay won the first set 6-4 in 43
minutes.

"The wait was long like Berlin some weeks ago. It makes you more tired. The
(string) tension of my racquet wasn't a 100% either. Now I have two days to
rest. I'll try to relax, and recover as well as possible." - Justine

The second set showed why Vesnina is regarded as a great new addition to the
already abundant band of Russians on the WTA tour. As Justine had trouble
sorting out her depth, and length of shots Vesnina raced off to a 1-3 lead.
The nice display off the baseline from the Russian encouraged Justine to take
her forehand game to a higher level. The Queen of Clay rallied to win the
next five games. It was game, set, match for Justine at 6-4 6-3 with warm
applause from a very appreciative Philippe Chatrier crowd that waited the
entire day to see her in action.
