Roddick sets up Murray re-match

Andy Roddick defeated Juan Ignacio Chela at the Cincinnati Masters on T
hursday to set up a quarter-final clash against Scot Andy Murray.

Roddick, who has lost to Murray twice already this year, looked in
impressive form as he beat the Argentine 6-4 6-3.

"I'm hitting the ball better right now than I have going into any of the
other two matches against him," said Roddick.

Rafael Nadal continued his steady improvement on hardcourts with a
straight-sets win over Tommy Haas.

The Spaniard won 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 to set up a quarter-final against Juan
Carlos Ferrero, who beat Robin Soderling.

Nadal edged a tight first set but always looked the stronger in the
second, breaking to love in game eight.

Nadal is the highest seed left in the draw following Roger Federer's
defeat by Andy Murray on Wednesday.

"I'm happy for this win today, I feel a lot better about my game," said Nadal.

"I was playing badly last week, but today I improved a lot. This was a good
test for the US Open. I had some doubts, but now I don't."

Murray beat Roddick on the way to his first ATP title in February and
knocked him out at Wimbledon in June.

"He's gotten me twice this year, especially at Wimbledon," Roddick added.
"That was probably the match I felt worst about afterwards.

"He's a very, very good tennis player. He sees the court well and has great
feel for the game. He's been on a bit of a hot streak.

"So unlike the two times before we've played, people might give him the edge
right now. It will be a little bit of a different match."

Fourth seed Ivan Ljubicic made the last eight with a 7-5 6-4 victory
against Dominik Hrbaty while seventh seed Tommy Robredo defeated Frenchman
Florent Serra 6-3 6-1.

Unseeded Spaniard David Ferrer claimed a notable scalp when he beat eighth
seed Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus, this year's beaten Australian Open finalist,
7-5 6-4.
