The Nets have announced that Richard Jefferson will undergo arthoscopic
surgery Monday on his right ankle, hoping the procedure will alleviate the
pain that has hampered his play all season. The Nets did not release details
on how long Jefferson might be out, but previous reports indicated it could
be between four and six weeks. Jefferson will be the fifth Net to undergo
surgery, following Josh Boone (shoulder), Eddie House, Cliff Robinson and
Nenad Krstic (all knees).
