紅襪將會拿到David Carpenter(木匠三號?)
D. 木匠近兩年60IP(67場)1-5, 5.70 ERA、60K、29BB
2006年第12順位(Cards),被轉任牛棚,2010年在Feliz交易案中被送到太色人,之前
則是在十人交易中被送到藍鳥。
According to multiple industry sources familiar with the deal, the Red Sox
will receive right-hander David Carpenter from the Blue Jays in return for
infielder Mike Aviles in order to complete the compensation deal related to
the Red Sox' acquisition of John Farrell as manager. Carpenter, 27, is 1-5
with a 5.70 ERA in 67 appearances over the last two years with the Astros and
Blue Jays, along with 60 strikeouts and 29 walks in 60 innings.
The right-hander was selected as a catcher in the 12th round of the 2006
draft by the Cardinals, who converted him to relief. He was traded to the
Astros in 2010 in exchange for Pedro Feliz. This summer, he went from Houston
to Toronto as part of a 10-person trade between the two clubs. Carpenter made
just three appearances in the big leagues with the Jays, allowing 10 runs
(nine earned) in 2 2/3 innings.

Just a thought: What's the chance Xander Bogaerts is the Opening Day SS for
Boston in 2013? More than 0%, right? 15%? 20? Higher?

Without question, Bogaerts' bat is far superior to Iglesias. Jose's a better
defender for sure, but Xander's D is not too shabby either.
