Behind the scenes, as Allen detailed in his new book,from the Outside: My Jou
rney through Life and the Game I Love, relationships were crumbling, namely wi
th star guard Rajon Rondo. He made a business decision to join the new Big Thr
ee in Miami, a team he felt gave him the best opportunity to win another ring.

That decision would pay off, as Allen and the Heat would win an NBA title in h
is first year in Miami, knocking off the San Antonio Spurs in a seven-game thr
iller. The Spurs earned revenge the next season, beating the Heat in five game
s and sending James back to Cleveland.

當年Ray Allen總決賽G6的那顆三分球，讓熱火殺進G7，也幫助熱火當年奪冠，但
隔年馬刺捲土重來，用5場比賽打敗熱火成功復仇，也讓LBJ決定回去克里夫蘭。

“Once LeBron chose the Cavs, I knew I would not be returning to Miami. The qu
estion was: would I follow him to Cleveland? He did his best to convince me, a
nd I think he probably got tired of trying. If only management valued me as mu
ch as he did; the Cavs offered me next to nothing.”

“當LeBron選擇回騎士之後，我知道我不會回去熱火了。”Allen在新書裡寫道，“但問

Allen notes that summer the Minnesota Timberwolves, Memphis Grizzlies and Milw
aukee Bucks offered him the league minimum. He said the Houston Rockets were t
he only team that offered him above the league minimum with hopes of winning a
n NBA championship, but “(he) knew they did not have a chance.”

Allen在書中還指出，當年夏天，灰狼、灰熊和公鹿也都為Allen提供了聯盟底薪合約。只
有火箭願意給Allen提供一份超過聯盟底薪的合約，且還有著奪得總冠軍的希望。但Allen
認為他們根本沒機會奪冠。

The Rockets would go on to lose, 4-1, against the Golden State Warriors in the
Western Conference Finals. Allen said the 2015 NBA Finals, when the Cavaliers
matched up with the Warriors, was the first time he wished he was still out o
n the court.

在那個賽季季後賽中，最終火箭1-4被勇士淘汰，而在當年勇士騎士會師總決賽時，Allen

Allen reportedly reached out to the Cavaliersto express interest in a return t
o the court in 2016, but nothing ever came of it. It wasn’t meant to be, and
Allen stayed retired.

，但是最終雙方協議沒能達成一致，而Allen最終選擇退役。

儘管提供最好合約，也是支季後賽強隊，沒奪冠機會就不去火箭。
