The Gaz de France tournament has begun, and it only got better with the
entrance of Justine. She had a solid hour hitting session on the practice
courts this morning. As the #1 seed the charismatic Belgian will play her
first match of the season on Wednesday or Thursday against the winner of this
evenings round 1 encounter between Greece's Eleni Daniilidou or France's
Emilie Loit.

If Justine advances in her opening match, the first seed she could face in
the quarterfinal is Patty Schynder. The semi-final seeds the Belgian may
battle against are Svetlana Kuznetsova or Nicole Vaidisova. The bottom half
of the draw is tricky featuring Amelie Mauresmo, and the talented Russians
Nadia Petrova, Anna Chakvetadze or Dinara Safina. The Gaz de France
tournament draw.

This will be Justine's third visit to the Gaz de France tournament. In 2000,
a rookie Justine lost in the second round to France's veteran player 1998
Wimbledon finalist Nathalie Tauziat. During 2002 the Belgian made it at the
quarterfinal stage, but lost to multi-grand slam champion Monica Seles.
