NEW YORK -- Two-time U.S. Open winner Monica Seles will be inducted into the
tournament's Court of Champions during a ceremony before the women's final
Sept. 8.

The U.S. Tennis Association announced Thursday that Seles was selected for
the honor by a panel of journalists.

Known for her two-tone grunts and two-handed swings, Seles spent more than
175 weeks ranked No. 1 and was elected to the International Tennis Hall of
Fame in 2009. She won the U.S. Open in 1991 and 1992, part of her nine Grand
Slam singles titles, including eight before she turned 20.

In 1993, she was stabbed in the back by a spectator during a changeover at a
tournament in Hamburg, Germany, and was away from the tour for more than two
years.

兩屆美網冠軍Monica Seles今年入選美網的Court of Champions，
以表彰她在美網的傑出表現。只有美網歷屆的單打冠軍，
才有資格將姓名留在此地。
每年的人選由全球記者決定，Seles是今年唯一的入選者。

大會也會在女單決賽前，舉行一個典禮向這位傑出女將致敬。
