Mariners extend SS Betancourt through 2011 - 美國職棒

Mariners signed shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt to a three-year extension
through 2011 with a club option for 2012.

Betancourt originally inked a four-year, $2.826 million contract after
defecting from Cubs. This new deal begins in 2009 and takes care of his
arbitration years. The option would buy out his first year of free agency.
Terms weren't revealed, but the deal should be worth in the neighborhood of
$12 million
